What we can provide you

  • A base salary package from $91,500 to $126,500 (in. super) so you feel financially secure
  • An extremely generous bonus package that kicks in at 50% billable (well below most organisations’ minimum KPI’s/targets). It works out at an additional ~ $90 for each hour over the target, so trust us, that can add up quickly.
  • Flexible hours that you can tailor around your life and what’s important to you. Picture never having to submit a timesheet ever again.
  • Flexible leave so you can take a day off anytime without using annual leave (in fact, you only need to use annual leave when you are away for more than 2 days in a fortnight)
  • Laptop + Phone set up, with great, easy to use online systems that won’t make you want to break either of them
  • A travel/car allowance
  • Monthly whole team PD’s, individual discipline PD’s, and a love of external PD’s as well
  • Supervision & support that is constant and available. No more trying to save up (and remember) all your questions for a weekly or fortnightly meeting
  • Fortnightly team lunch, cooked by the bosses. Picture our whole team sitting down to a feast that could be three different curries served with rice + roti + pappadums, or perhaps three hearty winter soups served with homemade rosemary bread. And did we mention there are gluten free and vegan options at every meal?
  • A fully stocked kitchen so you can make yourself lunch, or breakfast or just a quick afternoon snack. Then, if you’re feeling a bit tired after all that eating, you can easily grab one of our home cooked, easy heat up dinners for you (and your family) from our deep, yet always full, chest freezer. Lasagne anyone?
  • Did we mention the quality espresso machine at the office? If you love coffee like us it could save you thousands of $$ on take away coffee (but don’t worry, we know all the good local cafes for those times when you just want to head out for a walk)
  • Most of all you’ll be part of a team that connects and enjoys each other’s company, in an environment where you feel supported to make an impact. Join us to find out why our staff retention is so high it’s “off the charts”

How we help you find your place @ Tandem

Starting any new job is exciting, but it can definitely leave you feeling a tad fatigued. Let’s face it, sometimes just remembering your passwords & learning where to find the toilets at a new place can be exhausting..

That’s why at Tandem we don’t just shove a caseload in your direction, we build it slowly at a pace that works well for you. Picture lots of joint sessions with our other staff. Sometimes as a nice relaxed way to meet the clients you’ll be working with, sometimes just to see how other people on our team work.

We allocate you a peer mentor to help you settle in, and for all those questions that continuously pop up in any new environment. Trust us, they’ve most likely all been asked before.

Then there’s the couches, mini-library, private staff garden (and espresso machine) to help you take those little moments of rest that are simply vital.

Our flexible approach means you never have to “look busy” at work. If your brain briefly shuts down in the afternoon you can head to the gym, do your grocery shopping, explore the town or take a walk by the river. We think it’s important that our staff manage their energy as much as their time, so if you don’t have a client session booked in you are free to do whatever helps you be at your best. No sideways glances from your co-workers as you head out the door, just trust & support to help you find what works for you.

How we help you love your job

At Tandem we focus on impact, not on KPI’s, targets or compliance techniques. In fact, we have no minimum KPI’s at all, and we want you to keep your focus on how you can make an impact in the lives of the people we support.

We also love to be creative in our approach to therapy. As you walk into our office you’ll see our giant (5 metre) Aerial Circus rig, which our Physio’s use with clients to work on core control, strength & coordination. There’s the enclosed trampoline that our OT’s use for movement breaks or the full kitchen where clients can bake their own perfectly imperfect creations.

When we work with our clients we look for every opportunity to take their interests and embed them into our therapy. So you might run a session at our office, or a school, a park. Whatever location will make the biggest impact.

Speaking of impact, we realise that as health professionals in Australia we are incredibly lucky. So we also run a social enterprise - Joey - that uses 100% of profits to support allied health professionals across south east asia, through scholarships, placements, mentoring and PD opportunities. Sound interesting? Well, you're welcome to be involved as much or as little as you like.

Our clients are our our why

The western side of Melbourne, and the regional areas beyond, have significantly less access to healthcare and disability services than most areas across metro Melbourne. This means that we work with a wide variety of clients, allowing us to tailor caseloads to the specific skills and interests of our team.

Keen to work in paediatrics? Maybe you just love working with people to grow their independence at any stage of life? Have a chat to us about your interests and we’ll show you how we can create a caseload that is manageable, yet keeps you growing and learning for many, many years to come.

We love our local community

We are lucky enough to work in one of the most successful multicultural regions in Australia. Not only does this significantly add to the vibrancy of our local community, it also means that we are able to make a more significant impact as we support people from refugee backgrounds, or families where english is not the primary language spoken at home.

Navigating the NDIS, the health system & the school systems can be challenging for anyone, but these challenges can be even more significant for people in our local community. So we embrace this as an opportunity that allows us to have an even greater impact, through the way in which we can support people outside of our direct “clinical role”.
