Research is showing the way
Did you know that current research shows that telehealth therapy is as effective as face to face therapy? We've done the deep dive into the research to learn all there is to know about how we can make telehealth engaging, accessible and most importantly, effective.
Wait lists for therapy across Australia just keep growing
Sometimes the wait can feel like it will never end, with the wait time in many areas across Australia growing beyond one, or sometimes even two years.
Telehealth opens up options for people in areas with less access to local therapists, decreasing the post code lottery for those needing support.
Tandem started in an under-resourced area on the western edge of Melbourne's fringe.
As locals we often felt frustrated that our region was never quite the priority. From challenges like the lack of local therapists, external providers charging large amounts for travel, and even the poor level of accessibility in our towns.
Now we are committed to making a wider difference in rural, remote and disadvantaged areas across Australia.
We use a range of interactive platforms
Telehealth doesn't mean boring, or just talking. We use a range of modern platforms that incorporate interactive games, accurate assessment tools and engaging activities.
We have success with our approach because we fully invest in the tools to make telehealth really come alive, and support our team to continue to develop new approaches to keep driving the future forward.
All you need is an ipad, tablet, laptop or computer with access to the internet.
All our apps and software can be accessed via a browser without the need for any additional downloads.
Whilst not necessary, some people fins it useful to also have a set of headphones with a microphone. Our staff will be more than happy to help you discuss options to meet your specific needs.
We use a range of modern interactive platforms, with our primary platform being Lessonspace. Lessonspace was designed to online tutoring of kids and teenagers, so it adapts extremely well to the therapy envionrment.
In addition to Lessonpace we sometimes use other app/platforms including Google Meet, Zoom & Physitrack.
The good news - all can be accessed simply by clicking on a link we provide provide prior to the session.
Yes, there is a growing body of evidence that telehealth can be just as effective as face to face, or even more effective for some people.
